Chong Kumdan Glacier

Surrounded by huge peaks, Chong Kumdan Glacier is located on the lower slopes of the Karakoram Range in Ladakh. The melt-water from this glacier flows into the Shyok River, and this river joins the Indus River. Chong Kumdan had blocked the flow of the Shyok River several times in the past and it was maintained with the help of Gapshan River. The glacier can be reached from Skardu in Ladakh
