DAY 01: DELHI

Upon arrival at Delhi airport, meet our representative at arrival hall and transfer to hotel. In the morning go for the city tour of Old Delhi. Visit Jama Masjid, built from red sandstone and white marble, the edifice dominates the skyline of the busy Bazar in central Delhi and is the largest mosque in India. Enjoy a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk. This market has been around for more than three centuries. You may buy curios and souvenirs from here. Then visit Red Fort, it is a massive red sandstone fort and is proof of the glory of the flourishing Mughal Empire in Delhi. Proceed to visit Raj ghat, it is the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. A black stone platform in an open air complex marks the spot where Gandhi was cremated. In the afternoon visit President House, Parliament, Qutab Minar, a seventy three meters high tower made of red sandstone and marble is not only the highest brick minaret in the world but also one of the most famous historical landmarks of India. Visit India Gate, Birla Temple and Humayuns Tomb. Return and overnight stay at hotel.

 

DAY 02 : DELHI – KALKA – SHIMLA (BY TRAIN + ROAD)

Early morning transfer to Railway station to catch train for Kalka. Arrival at Kalka station and proceed to Shimla, snow-capped Himalayan peaks and green pastures surround Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. It has many vintage architectural marvel and most of them were built during the British rule. The city has temples, churches, palaces, labyrinthine bazaars and lengthy pedestrian shopping mall which still bear the rich culture and heritage of our country. Reach Shimla and overnight stay.

 

DAY 03 : SHIMLA

After having breakfast proceed to kufri, it is a tiny hill station, 13 km from Shimla. Travelers can enjoy the panoramic view of the surrounding verdant valleys and snow-capped peaks. There are a number of picnic spots, hiking and trekking trails in and around Kufri. Later return and take a walking tour of Shimla, the town is nestled among the snow- clad ranges of Himalayas. Visit Jakhoo hills, it offers the visitors a panoramic view of the Shimla city and its surroundings such as valleys and the snow peaks. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

DAY 04 : SHIMLA – MANALI (265 KM, 7 HOURS)

After having breakfast proceed to Manali, sitting in the lap of lofty mountains, this picturesque hill station is located at a height of around 2000 meters. It is known for its gushing rivers, soaring mountains, breathtakingly beautiful landscape created by deep gorges and lush valleys. Arrive at Manali and check in at hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure for doing independent activities. Overnight stay.

 

DAY 05 : MANALI

After having breakfast proceed for sightseeing of places in and around Manali. Visit Hadimba temple, surrounded by gorgeous cedar forests; this beautiful shrine is built on a rock. The construction style of the temple is entirely different from that of any of the other temples, with its wooden doorways, walls, and cone-shaped roof. Then take a halt at Manu temple, located in old Manali, around 3 km from the main market and river Beas adds to its attraction. The temple is one of the prime attractions in Manali and is believed to be the same place where sage Manu meditated after stepping on earth. In the afternoon, visit Vashisht Hot Water Spring, the hot springs is believed to have medicinal value. The springs are said to cure many skin diseases. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

DAY 06 : MANALI – SARCHU (225 KM, 9 HOURS)

In the morning leave for Sarchu en route visiting Rohtang Pass (3978 meters). Located around 51 Km from Manali, You will enjoy the views of beautiful snow-capped peaks and glaciers from here. It is in this vicinity that the Chandra River flows too. Continue drive and reach Keylong, then proceed towards Sarchu, it is nestled between the Baralacha La pass to the south and Lachulung La to the north, at a height of 4,290 meters. There is an Indian army camp located on the banks of the Tsarap Chu river. This spot is a popular trekking point in the Zanskar region. Arrive Sarchu and check in camp for overnight stay.

 

DAY 07 : SARCHU – LEH (255 KM, 10 HOURS)

The trail continues for Leh by early morning, post breakfast, through Nakeela and Lachangla Pass 16,598 ft, the pass is located 54 km from Sarchu and 24 km from Pang. The mountain pass offers great sights of the snow-capped mountains to all the visitors. Visitors get to witness natural beauty at its best with a visit to the pass. Lachulung La pass is visited by a number of people and it is one of the favorite passes amongst the hikers as well as trekkers and after lunch drive to Leh passing through SkyangchuThang (Biggest and Highest Plateau on Earth on Stretch of 42 Km), Tanglang La Pass 17,585ft and Indus Valley will give you a refreshing view of a lifetime. On arrival in Leh, check in at hotel.

 

DAY 08 : LEH

After having breakfast proceed for a full day sightseeing to Thiksey monastery, Hemis monastery and Shey palace. Firstly visit Thiksey monastery which is referred to as ‘Mini Potala’ of India. The monastery is settled on the hill top and is home to around 120 monks. With its amazing and iconic architecture, Thiksey is a twelve storied monastery and boasts of 10 shrines and an assembly hall. The monastery houses many stuffs of Buddhist art such as stupas, statues, swords, thangkas (a painting on cotton or silk, depicting Buddhist deity) and wall paintings. In-addition, there is also a nunnery in the monastery complex. After that visit Hemis monastery, situated on a green hill and surrounded by spectacular mountains. It is the largest and most popular monastery in Ladakh. There is also a museum with cultural artifacts from the past, various Buddhist temples with daily prayers by monks, several gilded statues of various dieties. On the way back, visit Shey Palace. The Shey Palace is built up in a very beautiful way and extends up to three floors. The name Shey in Ladakhi means mirror and it is known as the reflection of the palace. Return to Leh and overnight stay at hotel.

 

DAY 09 : LEH – SPITUK – ULEYTOKPO ( 80 KM, 3 HOURS )

After having breakfast leave for Uleytokpo, it is a scenic and ultimate destination blessed with its astonishing beauty. En route visit Spituk monastery, built during the 11th century, also known as Pethup Gompa. This monastery is home to 100 monks and a giant statue of goddess Kali, which is shown during the yearly Spituk festival. Continue drive to visit Alchi monastery. Actually this monastery is a complex of temples consisting of 4 separate portions that has monuments built at different times. The walls of this monastery are adorned with paintings depicting the details of Hindu kings as well as the teaching of Buddhism. There is also a huge Buddha statue in the complex, a famous tourist attraction. By the lunch time, you will reach Uletokpo. Overnight stay in camp.

 

DAY 10 : ULETOKPO – LAMAYURU – LEH ( 180 KM, 6 HOURS)

In the morning leave for Lamayuru via Khaltsi, Lamayuru monastery is home to more than 150 monks and houses a rich collection of artifacts, wall paintings, thangkas, statues, carpets and an impressive eleven headed, 1000 eyed image of Chenzing. Lamayuru also attracts tourists for its beautiful landscape which is quite similar to the lunar territory. In the afternoon return to Leh for overnight stay at hotel.

 

DAY 11: LEH – DELHI (BY FLIGHT – 1 ¼ HOURS)

In the morning transfer to Leh airport to catch flight for Delhi. Arrival at Delhi airport and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day is free to visit Delhi on your own or for shopping. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

DAY 12 : DELHI

In the morning transfer to airport to catch flight for onward destination.
