All travellers to Ladakh must possess a valid passport. Foreigners visiting Ladakh can obtain Indian visa from Indian Embassies / Consulates in their countries. However travelling to certain areas of Ladakh requires special Permissions even if visitors have valid Indian visa. The special permission can be obtained while in Ladakh.
